Reformer Group Class

55 MINUTE CLASSES

Group classes on the Pilates reformer in our peaceful studio are limited in size so you have the feeling of personal attention.  Reformer classes may also include small Pilates props for the best possible experience.  This class is for those who have some experience and are familiar with the fundamentals of the reformer.

30 Day Challenge expires in 30 days from your activation date (the date of your first class attended).

WHAT IS PILATES?

Pilates is a method of exercise & breath work, developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Created to strengthen and develop the entire body and the mind, the movements are flowing and energizing. Pilates is a complete system that uniformly develops the mind-body connection, making it a highly effective, intelligent method of fitness.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

We recommend a private lesson or series of privates for all new clients who are new to Pilates. You will have the undivided attention of a fully trained and certified instructor who will take time with you for a thorough intake & assessment. This allows us to tailor the exercises to your needs and ensure you begin with the solid foundations of the Pilates method.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO PILATES?

Most people find that 2-3 Pilates sessions per week are the best way to advance in the method. Many options are available. For example- 1 or 2 private lessons weekly can be mixed with duets or groups such as mat or reformer classes. A home program is a great solution if you travel frequently or enjoy doing the exercises on your own. Your instructor can help you find the perfect fit.

WHAT WILL I NEED TO WEAR?

In order to move freely we recommend wearing form-fitting exercise attire such as yoga pants, tights, or fitness shorts with an exercise top or tank. This allows us to more easily see the body for alignment and technique. Socks are also recommended to cover your feet while using the reformer footstraps. For your convenience we have a changing room available.

IF I AM INJURED OR HAVE A CHRONIC CONDITION, CAN I STILL DO PILATES?

Many people find Pilates to be a helpful, complementary method of fitness. With approval from your doctor or physical therapist, we recommend private sessions as a transition or in tandem with other PT treatment.
